14-Year-Old Ibrahima Seck Begged “I Don’t Want to Die” Before Succumbing to His Wounds After Broad Daylight Stabbing in Manchester

A community in north Manchester is reeling after the tragic death of 14‑year‑old Ibrahima Seck, who was fatally stabbed near the Fairway Inn pub in New Moston at around 5 pm on Sunday, June 8, 2025. Evading his attacker, Ibrahima fled to a nearby house, pleading “I don’t want to die” before collapsing at the doorstep. Emergency responders, including an air ambulance, rushed to the scene and administered CPR, but he later died in hospital.

His family, shattered by the loss, described him as “funny, caring and hardworking,” with a smile that lit up any room. They spoke publicly in grief, mourning not only their son but a part of themselves. One message on the crime scene fence read: “Why would anyone do this to him? He does nothing wrong” .

Arrests and police response

Greater Manchester Police have launched a murder investigation and arrested five people in connection with the attack: two boys aged 14 and 16 on suspicion of murder, a 14-year-old boy, a 14-year-old girl, and a 37-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender. Officers remain at the scene, with forensic teams and sniffer dogs searching the area, while police continue to urge anyone with dash cam or doorbell footage to come forward.

A beautiful soul gone too soon

Ibrahima was described by community and school staff as having a “beautiful soul” and “infectious smile” that brought joy to everyone around him. Tributes piled up at the scene—flowers, photos, heartfelt notes—a testament to the young life cut far too short.

A teacher who had worked with him said, “He touched my soul and he had such a beautiful heart. I’m devastated beyond words.”

GoFundMe

To ease the financial burden on Ibrahima’s family during this devastating time, a GoFundMe has been launched by Dawn Frimpong, who says she was honored to work with him in school. The fundraiser—Support for the family of Ibrahima Seck—has raised over £8,000 from 457 donations so far. All proceeds go directly to the family to help with funeral expenses and bills. This tragic incident has left a gap in the hearts of those who knew Ibrahima, but in their pain there is a call for justice, awareness, and communal action. May this young life be remembered for the joy he brought, not the violence he suffered.
