29-Year-Old Mother of Seven Killed in Jacksonville Crash as Family Calls for Support After Tragic Loss

The Jacksonville community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Shantel Patrice Ennis, a 29-year-old mother of seven, who was tragically killed in a car crash near the Acosta Bridge on Sunday, May 25, 2025.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Shantel was riding with her fiancé, Michael Fulmore, and their 1-year-old child when their truck struck a barrier on Riverside Avenue just before noon. Fulmore, who was knocked unconscious during the crash, awoke to find Shantel unresponsive. Both he and their baby were seriously injured but survived the accident.

“She was a beautiful soul, a loving mother, and the center of our family,” Fulmore said. “I dread the fact that the kids are not going to have their mom, and I lost my fiancé. I’ve cried every tear I can cry.”

Shantel was more than a devoted mother—she was also a known small business owner in her community, admired for her strength, determination, and dedication to her children. Her sudden death has left a massive void, not only in the lives of her children and fiancé, but also in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

In response to the tragedy, her family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover funeral costs and to support the future of her seven children, who are now left without their mother. The campaign is calling on the kindness and generosity of the community during this unimaginable time.
